Transform your plain text into static websites and blogs.
Octopress is a framework designed by Brandon Mathis for Jekyll, the blog aware static site generator powering Github Pages. To start blogging with Jekyll, you have to write your own HTML templates, CSS, Javascripts and set up your configuration. But with Octopress All of that is already taken care of. Simply clone or fork Octopress, install dependencies and the theme, and you're set.
Sigal is yet another simple static gallery generator. It’s written in Python and it allows to build a static gallery of images with the following features:
process directories recursively,
generate HTML pages using jinja2 templates,
relative links for a portable output,
parallel processing,
MIT licensed.
The idea behind Sigal is to ease the use of the javascript librairies like galleria. These librairies do a great job to display the images, Sigal does what is missing: resize images, create thumbnails, generate html pages.
